I am still making my End of Time DX, a graphical remake of my original quest. (Is anyone else still making their EoT remake?) I intend to keep the story mostly untouched (in other words, nonexistant). I'm simply making a graphically nicer version of my End of Time.

Wow. Just, wow. This is amazing. You've done this so much better than I could dream of. However, I might want to start mine up again. The whole "I intend to keep the story mostly untouched (in other words, nonexistant)" part makes me want to make my own storyline-extensive version.

Also, is there going to be any new parts of the game? Like a new dungeon or something. I have most of the quest memorized, so it would be nice if I had something new to try. :P

I enjoyed the first EoT, it was actually the very first Custom Quest I played and beat, and I will probably play this one.

If you decide to start it up again, Russ, I'd be happy to help beta-test it again.

As for the topic, it looks amazing! Simply astounding... I can't wait to see the final product.

Sooo.... I've had the hardest time finding swamp music (and I had no interest in writing any). Download this MIDI (http://www.drivehq.com/file/df.aspx/publish/abetity/90weiuew098dw9083490werjwedkjdoaoiiueriu39834newjn rkwljebnro3/eotdx_swamp.mid) and tell me if it works. It loops back to the beginning at the 0:40 mark.

Well, I'm about 45% finished with Level 8 (which is the biggest dungeon). I'll need to do a few screens of underworld, Level 9 (which is only one floor), credits, and a little bit of an intro. Thheeennnn I'll need to play through it. A lot. I might recruit a beta tester.

The shot is absolutely beautiful. If you do need a beta tester, I'd be more than happy to do it.

Also, how are you handling the entrance to Level 8?

If you mean the spikes, I'm not going to allow access of Nayru's Love until after Level 9.

Right. Well, like I said, I'm not going to let the player get Nayru's Love until after Level 9, so you cannot access Level 8 or complete Level 7 without the boots. (The boots will not consume magic.)

Looking good. I know it would be a lot of work, and this is just personal opinion, but I'd get new lava. I was never a fan of the ALttP lava. I think it's funny that it is so popular, but it only appears in one room AlttP. As for the swamp MIDI, I like it a lot. Go for it.

Yeah, there's the new Pure lava, but frankly, it's too complicated for me to use. ...Actually, I'm using that lava for the "boss room" (hehehe) in Level 8.

Are you talking about the SD3 lava that Radien used in the DoR set? Or is there some other mystery lava I don't know about? O:

Once upon a time, I made a 4x4 lava tile(s) in Gimp, or whatever, and attempted to use palette cycling to give it a glow effect. If I would have used this, I would have used special lava edge pieces that I would layer over the lava. It looked something like the Majora's mask lava. Unfortunately, using the lava was kind of demanding since it required an entire C-set, and coupled with the would-have-been palette cycling, it was just too much.

I've got a fewwww rooms left in Level 8, then the boss. The boss is going to be a little bit different, so it might take a while to implement. Hopefully I can work on my quest this weekend and get started on the relatively short Level 9.

Well, I just finished Level 8, so I could get it done in 3 weeks. Odds are, however, it'll take a little longer, but I'll try to get it done soon. I still need to:

1. finish the underworld
2. construct Level 9
3. make an ending/credits scene
4. finalize a few loose odds and ends
5. consider an opening scene?
6. alpha test
7. recruit a beta tester?

You're forgetting that you've already got a beta tester. :) If you need help with anything I'd be more than happy to.

There's one thing I just noticed about the shot of the lake in the deluxe version: I think you met to put "Lake Hylia", but you put in "Lake Halyia".

Oh. And I'll be doing a video walkthrough that I'll be posting on YouTube. Hopefully I can finish Level 9 tonight, finalize the quest, and get it released soonish. I'm hoping within a month (to be safe).

....Not to double-post, but I should mention that I'll be sending the beta quest to Moo2wo and Russ pretty soon. Once I confirm the alpha state is playable, I'll go ahead and approve it for beta testing so I can get to work on finalization. Really, the finalization will include making an opening/closing cinematic, adding a few graphical bells and whistles, and playing through it twice more. If I am able to play through it without having to fix anything major, you'll see it on the QDB. This process should take hopefully two weeks.
