2.10 Fullscreen Not Working

I just installed zelda classic 2.10 and I can't get it to open in full screen. The "larger" window opens and the "small" window opens, but the full screen crashes and gives an error message. I have:

windows xp sp3
GEforce 9500GT video card
42" lcd 1080i screen

Does anyone know how to fix this problem or what the problem is??
