I have had to watch this (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8408233.stm) a few times because it is so cool. It certainly shows a level of intelligence and forethought we usually do not expect.

I saw that the other day. It's incredible; I've never heard of cephalopods using tools.

Yeah, surprised to still see so many familiar faces around. Figured you'd all have died by now or become software engineers, etc.. Family is good! Growing like weeds, etc... Welp, and so ends my bi-yearly post. ;)

I come back and all the cool people follow. And JJ. I feel like such a trend setter...like Paris Hilton without the poorly filmed, nightvision pron.

The day after I posted this thread, Craig Ferguson talked about the octopi/octopode/octopuses ('cause I knew someone would challenge the pluralization...and yes, the are all correct) on The Late Late Show. I found the story while surfing through a bunch of minor stories about animal intelligence so it was cool to see it getting some national attention, if only from a comedian on late night telly.
