Everybody eats. Not everybody eats well so Zaphod and I twisted an arm or two and have come up with a way to change that for the denizens of AGN. AGN will soon see the addition of a new, food-related forum. This forum will be for anything food related including but not limited to selecting, purchasing/acquiring, storing, and preparing delicious noms. We also want to promote discussions on things such as food budgeting, alcohol pairings, soda making, vegetable and herb (not those herbs) gardening, restaraunt reviews, and anything else related to the gastronomic arts.

To start with, we want your help. Every forum needs a name and we are looking for suggestions from the AGN membership at large. Post your suggestions in here, please try to keep them practical, and we will determine a selection process from those suggestions.

If you do not like the idea of this new forum, please post your complaints in GB where Zaphod and I can respond appropriately.

Requests for modships in the new forum will be ignored at this time. Additional mods will be added in at a later time as we deem them necessary.

I just started SB diet so lately I actually think about what I eat instead of evaluating meals based on effort required to fix it. I support this decision.

I hereby submit the name "Stuff Your Pie Hole"

Seriously? A food forum? I was just thinking of making a few topics about food. Awesome timing. ^_^

"The Gourmet Gathering"
"Herb Garden"
"Gourmet Delights"
"Chefs Paradise"
"Gastrointestinal Goodness" (Heh, J/K)
"Forum Feedbag"

More to come I'm sure.

For the open beta bugs forum, there should be a subforum specifically for Default Template Errors. So that way, we wouldn't have to put them in the mechanical or audiovisual sections.

Please post such suggestions in the correct forum or at least a new thread if posting in GD.

This is a very punny thread. Let's see if I've got any...

How about something simple, like "Good Eats" or "The Chef's Pantry"? Or, since you refer to food as noms, you could call it "Nom Nom Nom". Though I would probably have to groan every time I entered a forum named that.

This is a good idea.

If it's a place for people to primarily share recipes and the like, how about Culinary School, or something?

How about something simple, like "Good Eats" ...
That was the first thing that came to mind for me because we use it a lot in my house but it is also the name of a cooking series from The Food Network starring Alton Brown. Great show, by the way. Alton did not just talk about how and what to cook but why to do things certain ways. His show was more like a cool physics and chemistry class with edible experiments.

This is my favourite so far.

I just thought of "The Cutting Board" but then I realized that that could be an alternative name for General bitching. Awesome.

This sounds like a very general forum for food discussion... Hmm...

General Food Discussion.

General Food Discussion.

I swear if that becomes the name of the forum I will take a dump in that forums and in your rep.

So when do we get this fabulous new forum?

It seems to fit with the other rather uninteresting forum names. I guess GB, and ASWGL are not so normal though.

First off, many thanks to everyone for the enthusiasm expressed for this new endeavor. Food is the one thing everyone, no matter culture or background, needs and can share. Cooking is not merely "women's work" and good food is not only for the wealthy who can afford to frequent four-star restaurants. Assuming the poll function will work with the new version of the forum, I will set up a poll for names sometime today to run through the weekend. The new forum should be up and running tomorrow with a generic name until the poll is over.

And since I am a member, too, here's my suggestion: Feast of Friends

*edit*
I closed this thread so we can move on to choosing from the names that have been suggested.
