* Be sure you're trying http://armageddongames.net (no .com and no /forums/).
* Try clearing your cookies and restarting your browser.

If you succeed in logging in, please post here what browser and URL you were trying, as well as whatever finally worked to fix the problem, so that I can try to get at the root cause of this annoying issue.

Second time posting this...first time (about an hour ago?) it appeared to post, showed up for me as the second post in this thread, but I just noticed it gone a few moments ago. The first time I posted this reply I did it through the "Reply to Thread" page since the "Quick Reply" field was missing for me. This time I am replying via "Quick Reply".

So I am back to having the problem staying logged in again. "remember me" box, checked. Cookies, cleared. Logging on at http://armageddongames.net--no www, no .com. Running XP SP2. Using Google Chrome. Not having a problem staying logged in on other sites. Slow load times here (20-40 seconds minimum), sometimes resulting in incomplete loads. The problem went away yesterday afternoon while we were discussing the issue in IRC and I spent a couple of hours perusing old threads last night with out being logged out.

Double-post goodness...attempting to edit previous post, 404'd, decided to reply to my previous post, ended up double-posting previous message. This is fun.

Anyway, after making previous post, I realized that rather than refreshing in same tab, I had a new tab opened for this thread with my reply in addition to the original tab for this thread I had attempted to reply in. I hope some of this makes sense to someone because I am lost.

At least I get to test the edit function.

Update: If you're using Firefox, here's something that worked for me and may work for you: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Cannot+log+in+to+websites

The last section in particular, about removing corrupt cookie files, finally did the trick for me; AGN (as well as all other sites) now correctly remember me. As always, please let me know if this helped/didn't help/you still have problems logging in.

If you can't reply here because you can't log in, feel free to shoot me an email at [email protected].

That "seems" to have worked so far.

Yeah, I'm definitely staying logged in now.

I hope this shows up. I made a post two days ago, and it does not show up now. I deleted the saved cookies through Firefox, so hopefully I'll stay logged in. I'm using Windows 7 RC, and Firefox 3.0.15.

EDIT: Okay, it seems to be working now.

Thanks for the directions DD. I think my problem is fixed now too.

Chucked all AGN cookies, and the login decided to work. Windows 7 x64 (retail), with Firefox 3.6b4

In another thread Anthus had another good suggestion: if you're getting to the forums via a bookmark, delete the bookmark and recreate it. Bookmarked URLs sometimes have extra parameters (?blah=blah&blah=blah...) that confuse the new vB software.
