It's got about 3 inches on the side that are messed up. I've got an afterdawn thread (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/771763#4673846) going for the solution, but honestly, it's a RIDICULOUS deal. It looks SO GOOD now that I got component cables for the PS2, and I'm just having so much fun with stuff.

I found a way to force 4:3 all the time which pretty much solves the problem, but it'd be nice if I could use all the available screen real estate.

Either way... Holy crap. It's a great TV.

You are just too wealthy! I bet it has the widest color gamut in the face of this planet! Congratulations on your great buy! I hope you enjoy it and make sure you have a barf bag with you cause of the "Vomit Inducing" bright colors that will make you go blind!

Is that supposed to be sarcasm? I'm confused by the whole post.
I'm not wealthy, that's why this TV is awesome. Little problem over there on the side. It's like a 1500 dollar TV used normally.

And that's an eclipsed clockwork orange poster that's likely older than I am. But yeah, rape is pretty alright.

We got panties, we got rape and we got some pink slippers? on the left. Is that TV sturdy sitting there? It looks like 1/3 of it is hanging off the dresser.

Have you found a way to fix it? It's a steal already, but it would be funny if you could fix it...

Where are you getting your price quotes from? That would be more in the $600 to $800 range normally.

This kind of reminds me of my old tv, which incidentally also cost $300 at the time. It was a largish SDTV (which was normal when I got it), that seemed perfectly fine until I was playing FFX and noticed that there was a large patch of yellow snow on Mt. Gagazet that traveled with me wherever I went. Seems that once the TV warmed up, the blue gun would favor the left side of the screen, leaving the right side a more yellowish tone. Luckily it was almost imperceptible during normal tv. Only when you had large patches of solid color - like the white snow - would you really see it.

Simple googling was reporting such prices, and I believe ebay was near there, in the 1200ish range, but I was only looking for model info, not the best price, so the number is likely somewhat misleading.

I'm just sooooo happy with it.

Requesting pics of your room, masa. I live in a pretty regular house. Just cheap furniture.

I swear to God, Masa, you and me would be best friends IRL. The original MGS was far better, but, still.

I can't stand when things aren't symmetric. Having that bar on the visible area of the screen would drive me nuts. No thanks. I would rather put my $300 into a more reasonably sized television that works.

Firstly, why does Kingdom Hearts talk about decks? why are your friends in a crown emblem thing...

secondly, damn you lol, I bought my TV for 2,400$ AUD plus like 300$ for the extra warranty.

Re: chain of memories is an american release - should be available at your local gamestop. it's a remake of Chain of memories for GBA.

I guess I was thinking of the prices of 1080i sets. Looking at advertisements I'm seeing that the 1080p sets are frequently twice the price of the 1080i sets of comparable size.
