View Full Version : Issues with the latest build (998)

I downloaded the latest build to try it out today, yet when I tried to run it (either ZC or ZQuest), it returned a runtime error, and immediately shut down. This happened with either clicking the icons or using ZLaunch to initiate it.

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way"

Using the Windows build (on Vista), and with 640x480 resolution (on ZC). Not Full-screen.

...any help?

AFAIK, the new build is identical to the old build. I.e., it's the same binaries.

However, try extracting the old version again, see if it fixes it.

Sorry, not sure if I follow. The previous build I had was 987 - the latest build, not counting 998, for Windows. I tried re-downloading it and trying it again, and worked fine. 998 doesn't work - returns me that Runtime error. Tried re-downloading it again, still doesn't work. Even tried to make an individual folder with 987, and overwrite the files with 998 - no runtime error, but functioned exactly like 987, same bugs, same everything.

...I'm stumped.

Try putting 987 back, then. What I am saying is that 987 and 998 (appear to be) the same, as far as zelda-w and zquest-w go. Why one crashes and the other doesn't, I dunno.

Oh. OK. Will do. XD; Though 998 also implemented the changes reflected on the 997 linux build (that interest me quite a bit). Thanks!

No, they don't. Look at the date on the executables.

The builds were missing the support files for a while; that's fixed now, see if the build 1002 fixes your problem.

And as with that.... This thread is now closed.
