Running as an Administrator makes everything work in Vista. Assuming you have the lame User Account Control turned off.

For me the 210 starts but then it say that quests don't open " decryption error" according to the allegro log ?
do you know the answer for that one

Tip: Buy Windows 7.

(Actually, I've yet to verify if ZC/ZQ work better on 7 than Vista... If my laptop comes back from the factory today, I'll try to see.)

EDIT: Yeah, Windows 7 fails also. Well, ZC/ZQ fail, anyway. Grr.

That last guy is a girl and still needs an answer for her question that is in a thread about the problem about vista and ZC so why should I open a new thread for it , if there is already a thread about it ?
Pinnecon that isn't gonna work for me now anyway .I have a Dutch version from Vista on this Laptop and am in the VS now , even the geeks on best buy didn't know if the English windows 7 update would work on it

the only bug I've found with 7 is it screws with the color sometimes, inverting it or something.

I'll post in what I edtied:

Open the file where your zquest/zelda-w files are, right click them and select Properties, then choose "Compatibility". In there, set the programs to Windows XP.
No guarantee it'll work, but it does wonders for my copy.

I don't know if anybody is still reading this thread but I may have an answer to the vista problem, as I have vista. ZC loaded fine for me but I got an error loading 1st quest. After a long and frustrating time of trying many things I simply changed the compatibility. If your playing from a desktop icon simply right click - properties - compatibility- check the box for run in compatibility mode - and select win 98 / me. I tried this for the xp selection and it didn't work. The selection for 98 seems to work fine for me. Hope this helps.

:o I forgot to add after you change the compatibility each time you play the game you must run it as an administrator (right click the game icon - click on run as administrator).
