I'm a tester for the state practical exam for Emt-Basic students. Tuesday was the retest for anyone that didn't pass certain exams. We were short on victims and I drew the short straw and had to be a victim. It was a trauma exam. Scenario was a gunshot wound to right anterior chest with a collapsed lung. I had a friend take the picture with my phone after I washed some of it off. That's almost two hours after the test was over. It had dried up and was starting to peel. During the test I was laying in a pool of blood and had blood flowing from said gunshot wound.

One of the nursing students on campus thought I was bleeding when walking back to my truck. White shirt soaked in blood and I still had some of the makeup on...yeah I didn't look so good.

I'm already an Emt-Basic. I'm also a firefighter(level II) with haz mat training. I'm working on my associates degree in fire science which I'll finish next spring. Paramedic training starts summer of 2010 for me. I help teach new emt's and test them for the state exam.
