View Full Version : Widescreen stretch hardware bug?

When running the game in fullscreen on widescreen monitors, the screen is stretched to take up the whole screen. I would post a screen shot but it won't do any good, since it's the rendering that is messing it up. I'm requesting that a solution be considered for this hardware problem. Anyways, I think the best way to fix this, is to simply crop the sides of the screen so it no longer stretches. I have a 1920x1200 default resolution by the way.

Is this a problem with 2.10 or a beta?

Try something like this...

zelda-w -res 384 240

If that doesn't work...

zelda-w -res 768 480 big

Or maybe...

zelda-w -res 1280 800 big2

Do any of those help?

I'm using 2.5 Build 976.
It also effects ZQuest, but only in fullscreen.
How do I set the screen resolution to a custom xy?

There's no way to do that in ZQuest. Only ZC has that ability.

One of those commands should have worked if your video card supports it in fullscreen mode. Check your available windows desktop resolutions to see what is supported. On my system, I was able to get this to work:

zelda-w -d -res 1280 720 big2

Ok, but how how do I set the Fullscreen Resolution for Build 976?

That was the command-line to do just that. I don't use ZCL so I couldn't tell you how to do that from there.
