Well, Quake Live has officially been opened up to the public. For those not in the know, Quake Live is a free version of Quake 3 that you launch from your web browser. It's been tweaked, and now has a matchmaking service so that you're not stuck in unbalanced matches. Ultimately it is planned to have advertising via in-game billboards as a means of supporting it. If you're interested, go check it out at quakelive.com. I've been playing it for a while, and it's a total blast to be back in Quake 3. Ah, memories.

Oh yeah, prolly should've mentioned I'm TheMadFragger. Damnit, I've used that as my gaming handle since middle school, and I ain't about to give it up any time soon.

Has anyone else been getting stats or achievements? Mine always reads as if I've never played before.

I had that problem back in the closed beta, actually. Though now that it's gone public, it seems to be better at keeping track of my stats and achievements.

I've noticed this when I played several games in a row. Try refreshing the page or logging back in if you're logged out, and see if that works.
