Unemployment

Well the US unemployment rate is about to increase by 0.0000003%. I got laid off. Or, more accurately, my company is closing. It sucks, because people are still buying games, but nobody's got any money to invest in their development anymore.

Ah well. I shouldn't complain. I've got some money in the bank so I should be fine for a while. Here's to hoping that things turn around before too long.

He was a manager at a plastic moulding place, and he was pretty good. Then, just as he's gonna leave work today, they tell him "oh yeah, don't come in tomorrow. Your post has been abolished".

I'll likely have to donate some of my pay to the family until dad (hopefully) finds another job.

Well my old boss called me yesterday to let me know that they're getting a new contract. So it looks like I'll be going back to work at the same place. Good thing too, as there isn't shit out there in terms of game-related jobs right now.

Well I went in to the office today and talked to my old bosses and made it official. I'll be starting again a week from Monday, once they get back from GDC. It feels good to know that I'll be able to be a productive member of society again.
