I got an idea for a script, im not sure if anyone thought of this before me but I was thinking of a ball and chain script, since I have no clue how to script. I thought id just post the idea on the forums.

I mean for link:tongue: not for the enemy. Is there one for link?

A good reference would be Lufia 2's Hammer (as in Olympic "Hammer Throw" not a Mallet for hitting nails) This Item was a hookshot variant that would strike blocks and break or push them from a distance. I made this suggestion about a year ago, but no one really seemed interested, and I haven't time to learn the scripting needed to do anything like that.

Is this what you're looking for?

Yes, it has multiple other scripts, but it's the only one I can think of.

Isn't General ZC Discussion perhaps not the most appropriate place for script requests?

That would be awesome. I've thought of using the hookshot as a mace-like weapon before, until I realised you can't modify its damage or ability to stun enemies.

Well you can definately modify its damage, and you could make it shoot out only a couple of combos.

I don't know whether you can stop it from stunning enemies, though.

Well you can definately modify its damage...

Do you mean with scripting or without? 'Cause I couldn't find a way to modify its damage in the item editor.

I'm sure the damage modifiers are there, I was able to use the hookshot to make 3 levels of spear about a month ago, and the only problem i encountered was not being able to deactivate to hooking aspect.

I know that remote pushing will defiantly require scripting to work.

There's a box labelled 'Damage' in the item editor...

Or it could act more like the ball and chain item from TP. You know, make so as the button is held down, the ball spins around you and when it is released, the ball goes the way link is facing. Of course, that is going to be rather difficult and would require a global script and stuff.

Hmm? *puts on eyeglasses* Ho ho! There it is!

Then, the only problem is stunning enemies.

You could try just increasing the power.
That may stop it from stunning things.

In ZScript, weapons you spawn with power 0 always stun enemies, and weapons with power > 0 don't.
I don't know about normal weapons though.

It would require the global script.
It wouldn't, however, be very difficult.

I don't see a script anywhere in that thread. o_ô

Also, I tested the Hookshot Mace theory—damage greater than zero still results in stunning enemies.

Ah, sorry.

Looks like you'll just have to have it stun them.
Or get one scripted.

Having a hammer whack into your head knock you out doesn't seem that unreasonable, surely?

True. I can live with the fact that it stuns enemies.
