Fable 2 freezes

I got Fable 2 for Christmas, and I've experienced freezing ever since I first played it. I could work around it until today, but now it freezes so much to where it's just not playable. I've tried clearing the memory cache, but that doesn't help much. I also heard that installing it to a hard drive eliminates the problem, but unfortunately, I don't have one.

Does anyone know any other way to fix it until I get a hard drive or Lionhead releases a patch?
