My Music

[Dechipher]

As you guys probably know, I am presently at Oklahoma City University pursuing degrees in Music Composition, Performance, and Education. About a month ago I had a week where three of my pieces were performed. Here are two of them:

The performances were fine, but not perfect. The brass piece had some awkward stuff that we just didn't have enough rehearsal time together to hammer out, and the woodwind piece is fine but woodwinds are sketchy at best, as far as their instrument responding well goes.

Quite nice. I like the tone of both pieces. Have you written anything for a full orchestra? I know it's no small task to bring all those people together, but it sure would be cool to hear them play your work.

I haven't yet. I will next year, though. Pretty much everyone at OCU writes an orchestra piece and gets it read, so that'll be pretty cool.

Yeah, I conducted the woodwind sextet. Ben Nilles was conducting the brass piece.
