Has anybody heard of Super Mario Rpg coming out on the DS? I heard of it a couple of years ago abd all the talk went flat. It's one of my favorite games of all time. I need to know.

I've heard nothing of it. It is on virtual console though, if you can't live without it.

Mario & Luigi: Lost in Time is an RPG game. It's similiar to Super Mario RPG. It seems they're making a sequel to that.

Judging from the DSi trailer, there seems to be a third M&L RPG in production. I don't know of any details tho.

M&L is awesome and all, but it doesn't capture the magic that Super Mario RPG did.

When I was like 6 or 7, I'd always see Super Mario RPG on the shelf at Blockbuster, and I thought it was a different version of Mario 64 from the 3D-ish graphics on the front. Then I finally rented it and discovered it wasn't Mario 64, but awesome anyway. It's not like I couldn't read, I just didn't know what RPG meant, and neither did my parents.

Super Mario RPG - Cause we couldn't come up with a better name.

I loved SMRPG, my biggest problem with it is its strong fanboy following who treat it like it's the second coming of Jesus. (Remember the "OMG GENO ISN'T IN BRAWL" people?)

I do remeber those people. All I have to say is that if Geno is in it, Malo has to be in it too. I think he would make a good long range fighter. In perspective though, I think Geno would annihilate. Those cannons and shooting arms are no joke.

Geno was a badass, Mallow was a bitch.

SMRPG was a solid game. It had the best aspects of an RPG without the worst (like random battles...ugh) It had a fun storyline, but it wasn't too complex.
It's probably my favorite game of all time.

I'd love to have it on the DS, because 99% of my video game time is spent in the bathroom. If you dig.

I loved SMRPG, and it's one of my favorite RPGs. I just don't think it's as good as a lot of people are clammering on. I was late to the party, I only played SMRPG after reading hundreds of reviews saying "THIS GAME JACKS INTO YOUR EYEBALLS AND TICKLES YOUR PROSTATE IT'S SO AWESOME", and while it was still good, it didn't live up to the expectations that the fanbase put into me. Then again, Chrono Trigger's fanbase did the same thing and I wasn't disappointed with it at all. So...

Ya but you can't compare SMRPG to Chrono Trigger. That's like comparing a Trumpet and a Kazoo.

Okay, now, aces, hold up a second, here—which one's the trumpet? 'Cuz it looks like you're calling Chrono Trigger a kazoo, and I ain't down wi' dat.

Hey shutup, kazoo's rule.

Shazza Dani

Kazoos are way cooler than Chrono Trigger, in fact.

Nothing is cooler than ChronoTrigger.

Well that's what I'm saying. They are both instruments but of totally different nature. It's a matter of preference and style. Though the trumpet (Chrono Trigger) is more widely used and a gem like any other with many ways of blending and bringing out the beauty. The kazoo (SMRPG) though very different is also an instrument with it's own unique qualities and presents a different mood and setting, while at the same time being attractive, more than beautiful. I geuss you could also say they are like women. Chrono is the gorgeous woman you see walking in the mall that you actually have the balls to talk to, and she turns out to be as good as you thought in bed, while SMRPG is the girl next door who needed a cup of sugar and you invited her in and she turned out to be more than you ever thought something that fine little package could present.

That had to be one of the weirdest things I've ever took a second to think of. Give me some of your compare and contrast.

Here's an easier analogy.

SMRPG = Latina woman.

Chrono Trigger = White girl with BPD.

I think that's more of the other way around. lol

But BPD is my fetish, so Chrono Trigger gets that one.

Beldaran
11-20-2008, 05:36 PM
What's BPD?

Shazza Dani
11-20-2008, 05:44 PM
Bipolar disorder?

Beldaran
11-20-2008, 06:05 PM
So he has a bipolar disorder fetish? That's bizarre.

Revfan9

Borderline Personality Disorder? It's comparable to Bi-Polar Disorder in several ways, but they aren't exactly the same thing.

I'm a strange person, I know <.<

I love redheads that's all I'm saying.
Did anybody actually complete that whole Frogfucius music puzzle? The Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti tadpoles. I can't remember what the prize was.

I second this! Unless the redhead's name is Chrono—then he's ugly. O:O:O:

I think the Frogfucius puzzle was required the first time and the 2nd time you got a flower tab?

*spoiler warning* (I guess...)

By playing the three different melodies, you could earn three different "levels" of cards. The higher the "level," the cheaper the items become and the more you could purchase at the store. You could also compose your own melody after getting the final card (which does absolutely nothing as far as I can tell). I think that was it for rewards.

I think the Frogfucius puzzle was required the first time and the 2nd time you got a flower tab?

I think you're thinking of the "giving food to Frogfucius" quests. Yes, the first one was required, but the second one gets you frog coins (10 if I remember correctly).

ah, I think you are correct.
