Anyone enjoy using something such as FamiTracker to create NES remixes? I already did a couple :D

Have you ever heard of the Black Mages? They did a whole album on FF remixes. It's really good, you can tell the experience of playing the games are there, and you can rock out to your favorite games' music.

I'll have to check it out when I can get to a computer Monday.
And that description of the Black Mages does them no justice. It's a group brought together and headed by Nobuo Uematsu to give his previous works for Final Fantasy a rock feel. They have released 3 albums to date. I have the second album and listened to the first, and it's excellent quality stuff.

I apologize. I was given a CD by one of my friends. Never really took the time to research them. I feel shamed. Excelent quality doesn't describe them that well either though. Let's just go with amazing.

Eh, OCR is really hit or miss. They do have some AMAZING shit there, but most of it is well, shit. There are a few peculiarities about the site that I just don't like.

Rules of OCR:

1. Pokemon Remixes aren't allowed.

2. Lyrics are good. The dumber the lyrics, the better the song!

3. Making remixes that actually bear some resemblance to the original work should be frowned upon. Your listeners should have no idea what you were trying to remix. (In djpretzel's words, it needs to "deviate from the original")

4. If you have good taste in music, you aren't allowed to become a judge.

5. The remix main page is a place for the judges to rant about their personal life and advertise upcoming OCR events. Any more than one paragraph devoted to the mix itself is unacceptable.

6. McVaffe wins. Nothing can ever be better than McVaffe.

7. Bad names are actually good. Totally.
