Is there some kind of page where Nintendo announces Wii Shop channel maintenance?

I read a ton of glowing reviews about World of Goo, and decided I'd go ahead and try it out.

Whoops! Screw me, the consumer wanting to buy a Wii game during the 7PM-9PM US timeslot; apparently this is not an hour in which people buy things because the Wii Shop channel's down for maintenance.

I've tried to find a site that says when planned maintenance downtimes are scheduled, but it seems like Nintendo doesn't feel like communication with the consumer is important. Does anyone know anything about if I'll be able to buy some games tonight, or if it'd be better for me to just go spend my money elsewhere?

Maybe it wasn't scheduled, and someone spilled coffee all up in tha mainframez.

I've never seen it down for maintainence before. Maybe it was just a one time thing, or failing at that, fairly rare?

probably random hardware failure with there supplier, nothing for them to do but get it fixed the instant they become aware of it, even if it is during prime time.

It was down for a short time due to a system update.
