Don't get me wrong, I'm not disagreeing with the sentence handed down. Especially for this despicable human.

But... hmmm... exactly HOW many of the 18 life sentences can any one person really serve? Or even how many of the 5... 20 year sentences?

I realize that a person can get off/out of their jail sentence with good behavior. So is that why a judge will give someone multiple sentences? So that if any one of the punishments given is satisfied that another one of the sentences will then "kick in"?

848 1/2 years... that's a LOT of years...

848 / 75 (used as an average longevity) = 11.306666(forever) average human lifespans

And I think that this is insurance that he doesn't ever get out. even counting good behaviour, he'll only get maybe 100 years off at best, and that's 1/8th or the total sentence.

I think he's in jail for good.

I believe multiple life sentences are given not out of some kind of belief that the soul will remain in jail, but due to the fact that parole terms and good behavior outings are scheduled by the percentage of the sentence that has been served. Sending a man to jail for 848 years effectively denies him a chance for parole; for some reason I don't think you can make "no parole" part of a sentence so the legal system improvised.

Take that with a grain of salt though, I've done no study or research.

Well, on a more serious note, I agree with Prrkitty. This person is VERY despicable to get such a long sentence.

There is nothing laughable about this case. The reason he has a sentence this long is because often prisoners who get life sentences get out on good behavior or get out early because of overcrowding. This length is to ensure that never happens.

But, the Soul Caliber analogy was pretty awesome :p
