side scrolling rooms

Is there anyway I could make a side srolling overworld like in the Metroid games.

Open up C's quest in the latest beta (http://www.shardstorm.dreamhosters.com/), (846.) and take a look inside the quest. I believe it's been graciously unpassworded.

Obviously, there's a lot to explain, but it's all possible, I assure you. The most basic aspect is that there is a screen flag (Maybe a Dmap flag? It's been a while... Probably a screen flag.) that the screen is a sidescrolling screen. Things pretty much work as you'd expect in such a case. Note that there aren't any natural ladder combos or anything, so you'll have to rely on a Roc's Feather system of getting around.
