Does anyone else ever find themselves playing this while quest building? I can't believe I can listen to such an irritating song over and over and not really mind...so why was this added in the first place?

I actually like it. :)

You would think that they would let you play the songs from Zelda 1, seeing as how they're already built into ZQuest...

Long before I had any midis on my computer, I listened to that when I discovered ZC about 8 years ago. Once in a great while I'll listen to it when I mess with ZC, and I've used it in trying to get ideas for music.

If I could, I'd gladly replace the lost woods / Saria's Song MIDI with something a little less repetitive, like, for instance, this 32-minute medley (http://www.vgmusic.com/music/other/miscellaneous/medley/sTravels.mid). But, I'm not sure what the original arranger would feel about it, and besides, the current MIDI has become a bit of a tradition.

It was for the setup of Allegro, from what I was told. You'd play the song to recognize your soundcard or something along the lines.

Phantom Menace had a soft spot for that midi, as well as for Ocarina of Time in general.

Sarias Song always annoyed me. However, I really like the Lost Woods music if you remove the flute part. The Sacred Grove version from Twilight Princess is amzing too.

This song also reminds me of the times that I thought it would be cool to be able to set quest music depending on room flags. And now, I think that they've already got that. But I'm not sure.

Great mighty_darknut, rub it in for those of us that don't have GameCube (or Wii), why don'cha?

The old AG Setup program used a midi of Metallica's Until it Sleeps to set up your sound card. It was pretty cool.

I've also heard a nice remix at a Video Game Midi Remix website (http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/n64/index-gr.html#Legend_Of_Zelda_The_Ocarina_Of_Time) whose name I can't remember titled Lost Woods (Remix 3) a.k.a. Saria 2. But my favorite is still the LttP lost woods song, although the others are just as good really :)

So that's what that song was! I remember booting the setup just to listen to that song once in a while out of sheer boredom. :p And to think, if it wasn't for those midis, I wouldn't have amassed a gigantic midi collection (15k songs).
