It even slows down the computer and makes the computer look weird colors of ZQuest when I open it and I need to shut down the computer by pressing in the button and my sister having to log in to her computer (Windows Vista) again so I can use it.

I am Jason from UTAH, North United States of America please help me out, thank you.

I think ZC will work if you run it as an administrator, or something like that.

...Or you could upgrade* to Windows XP.

*Yes, XP is better

Hello, I am Mike from OHIO, North United States of America. (I just couldn't resist.)

But anyway, this is a well-known bug. Your best bet would be to use version 2.5 (www.shardstorm.com), but you may risk compatibility issues if you play older quests. Or, yeah, get XP. :p

No. That would be downgrade!

...

Another way is by right-click the program/shortcut and enabling compatibility mode.

That is the easy and not-well-known way.

This is a good idea, it can be a pain to open older quests with some of the builds sometimes because of weird compatibility bugs :(

Do what's been suggested, run as admin, run in compatibility mode, or upgrade to a 2.5 beta.

Better as in nice new features, but not quite as stable. I would suggest it myself.

I downloaded zelda classic from the link pineconn gave but anytime I have to use the hammer to knock down things it will not work. This has happened in 2 quests I played. 1 of them was link 's decision and the other one was called easy quest. The hammer did not work on the tiles it was suppose to work on in either quest so what gives

anytime I have to use the hammer to knock down things it will not work.

According to the ZC Change Log, this should be fixed in the next build.

ROFL... for a more practical solution, try either one of the older builds (I use 819, but I am not sure if the hammer issue was in that one too), or just use ZC 2.10, which I know for sure works for that issue.

Try the 2.5 betas at http://www.shardstorm.com/, they fix any problems like that, but I suppose aren't the stablest of versions. They work fine for me.

What about an "add on" for 2.10 to run in vista? That way you won't have to risk an unstable beta for 2.5. There is this zlaunch-w.exe. How about a version of zlaunch-w that will run 2.10 on vista without any problems and that could be the add on. If it works then add it to the downloads page.

Such a thing exists. It's called 2.10.2, but I don't know where it's available.
