Game won't start

I just downloaded 2.10 and installed it, ectect. When I try to open either zelda-w or zquest-w the game would crash to desktop with the "This program needs to close" message. I didn't move or delete anything since I installed it, and I have no clue how to fix it.

It's very likely that you don't have the right version of Windows.

Zelda Classic 2.10 was made mostly for Windows XP, so it might not work in a newer version and it's very difficult, if possible to run 2.10 on Vista (http://armageddongames.net/forums/showthread.php?t=103261).

But there are newer versions of Zelda Classic (http://shardstorm.com/), which others suggest. Although many people advise to first use a stabler build (http://armageddongames.net/forums/showthread.php?t=102914) like 2.10 or even 1.90 to make the ZQuest, and add on with these alphas, backing-up your quest to make sure that your work doesn't get erased.

There is of course, the Mac versions and Linux versions on Shardstorm (http://shardstorm.com/). if you're not a PC (Windows) user.

Well the thing is that I'm using XP SP2, not Vista

Hmm, that is a predicament and even very uncommon. Are you having troubles running any other programs, such as full screen programs?

ZC2.10 sometimes doesn't like Service Pack 2 either. Sometimes, full-screen doesn't work with SP2. (At least, from my experience) Try 2.10.2 with ZCLauncher.

Where do I find a proper version of ZCLauncher?

EDIT: I can ran the 819 build perfectly, just can't run it in windowed, since it'll crash there as well.

Go to this (http://armageddongames.net/forums/showthread.php?t=94425) thread. You'll have to go to the latter part of the post to find 2.10.2. I think it's packed with Z-Launcher.
