This has basically been anticipated since Spore was announced. However, the game allows you to rate/block/report offensive content, and so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Then again, I just might want some penis creatures in my galaxy, so I'll have a decent excuse to annihilate a few planets and feel no guilt about it.

But hey, with games like this, it's almost a crime to not make disturbing creatures. My sister made an anorexic kid in The Sims 2 and killed it off. Now there's a disturbing ghost that wanders the plot of land.

Bah, penis humor is over-under-rated. At the right time(and only then), it's awesome.People think "well I'm too sophisticated to laugh at penis" but if they'd just let down their "I'm better than you" complex for a bit they could have a chuckle or two.

I thought the first one was funny because it was creative. I mean, who'd'a thunk you could make a creature that looks like two guys having buttsex? The second one was delightfully creepy, so props for that, but the penis one was just boring.

I had fun with the trial. I made like 6 different things. I can upload them somewhere. Im still not quite sure how you import a picture and it becomes a creature. I tried dragging and dropping like it says but it doesnt work. Maybe its not in the trial.

One issue may be that you're trying to view creatures made with the full version. Those won't work, as the trial doesn't contain the parts. Also, try dropping the pictures into your Spore creations folder.

Me too. It's great and all, but it kinda feels like I'm just designing really awesome statues, then putting them in a dark closet somewhere. Like building great graphics for a video game, then never using them in a game. It just feels cheap and fruitless to me, however awesome it is to make them.

I may get Spore when it comes out. Likely.

I still can't grasp how it stores its creature data. Is it in the header of the image file? Or is the shading around the creature in the image file somehow the data? It's confusing. Demo scene people are friggin geniuses.

I believe it's encoded as metadata - think of how MP3 files can store artist, song, album, etc. I may be mistaken, but I suspect it's similar.

I downloaded something labeled as "full version", and the instructions say to install the trial and just drop in the Data folder. Now when I run the trial, I have more pieces but still not all of them. Is the the best that's available or is there a real "full" version out there that has everything?

Am I the only one that's having problems with Spore?

I downloaded the Creature Creator Demo and it'll crash somewhere after the Maxis® screen and the creature creator screen.

I know that my computer isn't up to snuff, but about the 10th try the game loaded and I managed to make one creature. Then I changed some graphics options and exited the game so I could play it later with better graphics. Since then it hasn't held up long enough for me to do anything.

The spiral galaxy will show and then I'll go to click on something and then the game just disappears like that, without any error messages.

Are there any patches or updates to the demo?

Did you install the EA download manager? I've heard some people have had problems with it installing a "patch" which made Spore unusable.

Yeah, I installed the EA manager thingy. I got Spore to work one more time late last night and created a couple creatures, Fat American, and SEAKING, haha.

I got to the creature creation part earlier today and while I was putting on a mouth it crashed again.
