Hey why don't I have permission to view my own posts? I mean searching through 110 pages of topics without a search feature is hard enough but not being able to find my own posts? That seems a bit harsh...

I have to agree, the little "you don't have permission to ..." message gets a little annoying. Could you guys in charge at least let us for all our posts and threads started by us?

Visit www.google.com in your favorite browser. Type "site:www.armageddongames.net your user nameThere you go. Free forums search at the cost of less power over what posts are displayed and how they are presented.

I imagine the "Search for posts by this user" feature simply executes a search with particular parameters; so if you're not authorized to search in general you cannot use this feature. I also imagine it would be stupid difficult to create a second type of search for this.

Nope, I can see the threads, but I just can't search for my posts using the "find all posts by user" feature.

Oh, yeah, sorry, thats normal. Apparently our archive is so huge that it would eat up massive bandwidth we don't have to allow everyone to search.

Do you want to be able to use the search feature? You can enable it in one of three ways:

1. Hack the forums (not suggested).
2. Get promoted to moderator (not very easy).
3. Pay $7.50 biannually for premium membership.

War Lord has said that enabling search spikes up his hosting fees, so that's the last word.

Here's how to turn on search: go to the User CP, click on "Paid Subscriptions" down near the bottom, and sign up. ;)

Funny story; I first created an account here specifically to use the search feature. :laughing: Then found the new betas and whatnot while I was "searching".

Google or a premium account would be the way to go.

Premimum account is the absolute way to go, you also get a larger avatar size limit. I need to get it again, as I miss not being able to use the 'see new posts' feature.
