I've been meaning to get one for years, but today after work I just decided that the time had come. After some research and some fiddling at the store I picked out the Canon Powershot S5-IS. The model is about a year old, but it has some nice features. It is closer to a DSLR than a typical point-and-shoot, so it will be nice as I learn how to be an amateur photographer. :)
I've been on many trips in the last few years and I always take a lot of pictures. I remember taking nearly a thousand in Australia, using my last non-digital camera. I have them all in a box, and I've been meaning to scan them. Eventually I'll start uploading sets to Flickr or something.
Anyway, here it is!
