View Full Version : why are my rooms blank?

im using the improved graphics set that 2.10 came with and ive used it before and it worked just fine. but now, when ever i make new rooms, there's no cave background thing. it's just gray. HELP!!!

Hmmm, you made sure you drew you cave screen on the correct of the lower utility screens?

at the bottom of each map are a few "utility" screens.

these are used for caves/item rooms/ room templates.

the first one on the left (if youre using a dungeon) is an item room.(1 ladder)
the next one should be a passage.(2 ladders)

i dont qite remember the next few though

and im pretty sure all of this is correct. it might be passage then item room though, if im wrong.

If you're making custom rooms that don't use Screen 80 or 81, you have to set the Tile or Side warp to Entrance/Exit.

Also, make sure that the map the custom rooms are set on have Dungeon or Cave properties.

Actually I found out that only side warps work properly when exiting a dungeon to the overworld map. To enter the dungeon, tile warp must be enabled.

Actually thats not true.. Tile warps do work if its a tile. Im sure you know that, but mistyped it or something. Even if its set as a dungeon dmap, you can go to an overworld dmap as long as the warp is a tile and has the blue thingy set
