Yeah, I saw it this morning.
That would be pretty cool.

That looked cool and all that, but 2 things were wrong with it.

Link and Ganondorf.

If something like this were to ever come around, Link and Ganondorf would have to not like like douchebags. Also it would most likely be cut into a trilogy.

or be like Harry Potter and be an endless string of movies, in this case one movie = one game.

That makes me wish that it was real. Link looks like a tool, he should look a little younger.

Someone please tell me this is another April Fool's joke...

^^ I'm sure it is. Why would anyone ever release something like that on April 1? Besides, do you think Nintendo would also another movie to be made like this since the Super Mario Bros. bust? That said, it's a well done trailer though.

Please tell me you guys realized this was an April Fool's joke. It's definitely NOT real. They put quite a lot of work into it though.

Who were the people who made this? IGN?

Brasel

Too bad I found it too late, and with all the April Fools "activities" going on here, it might have been lost in the sauce anyway.

I liked a lot of the ideas they put forth in the trailer. I actually thought Link looked good. I didn't have a problem with the actor for Zelda either, though Ganon looked kind of strange.

Aside from the AGN joke, thsi Zelda movie trailor is the only other one presented to me. Personally, after seeing Ganon, I began to think of it as a joke. especially after seeing the release date. Would have been nice to see the real deal though. :kitty:

I liked how they tried to make Ganon look like Ganon instead of just a dude who's mean, like in Mario Brothers.

Ganondorf, not Ganon.

Ganondorf is his human-ish form. Ganon is the giant pig creature thing.

Wow. Do you ever look into a mirror and ask "what happened to turn me into THAT guy?".

Oh, how I wish this were real.
Except I thought the bit with him touching the Tri-Force right away with the dude saying "Don't touch anything" was a bit corny.

This will either be really really awesome like Transformers, or really sucky like Mario Bros.

This is why I hate April Fools day. There's a certain natural element of distrust that hangs about in the air on that day. Can't take anything anyone says seriously. :-/

Did anyone else notice the Zelda "secret jingle" at the end of the movie?

Yeah, that's quite possibly the best April Fool's video I've ever seen. Wow, this was a good April Fool's year. :)

it seems to have taken way too much work to be just a joke though.

its noticable that some of it was in 3-D...
actress playing zelda looks too old to me. as does link.
ganon is ok... ish...

idk. if its real, ill go see it, and if its not, then i wont

I would kill to see that movie. I dont care if the actors look too old. Maybe people of their heritage mature in a different way.

you know, youre right...

i noticed in Oot link goes from like 7 to about 18ish. strange? i think so.

Dechipher

I think something like this is more believable because:

1. It looks very real and fairly well done
2. Sometimes people don't see it until after April Fools day

Breaker

...You know that it was an April Fools joke...right?

I already tried to explain and it turned into another page of "OMG I CANT WAIT".

Guys, this is NOT real. It was an april fools joke.

he did not. the "triforce" you see him reaching for is just a souvenir from the town shops, otherwise it would be a incredibly easy win for him ;)

Actually, it was the real thing...or the triforce mark on his hand would not have lit up.

And before you ask, yes, Breaker...I have looked in the mirror. I like it quite nicely, and so does my wife, thank you. :-p

[EDITOR'S NOTE: April 2, 2008 - 12:01 a.m. PST. Yup, you guessed it. The Legend of Zelda trailer featured above is part of an elaborate April Fool's Day prank. Check back in later today for more details on the IGN/Rainfall Films collaboration that resulted in this "love it or hate it" piece of videogame movie history.]

Can a moderator of both forums or an administrator merge the two topics? :-p

I didn't check any dates.
April fools didn't even cross my mind since it seemed so well done.
Nice

Yeah...it was really well done, other than the characters of Link and Ganondorf. I would totally go see it.

I really like the part when he was putting on the armour and tunic. The little jingle made it feel so real. It looked fake when it came to him fighting such obvious computer generated monsters. But still very well done. Except the Link looked fugly as hell and so did Ganondorf.

Yeah, that was pretty cool...minus the hat.

If there is ever really a Zelda movie, I have no clue how they are going to pull off the hat.

Forgive me if these things have been said, I've not read this thread...

Cheese set aside, I thought it was a very well done trailer. GJ to who ever put it together. It's about as close to the game as you can get...Link doesn't speak. :)

Anyone watch the "Making of" video for it? Looks like it cost them a LOT of money for a prank. Plus they have a couple relatively well-known actors in there.

I knew it was an April Fool's joke immediately, but it was still really fun to watch. They did a good job on it. If they were to make a real movie though, I don't think they should follow a story from one of the games so closely like the trailer did with Ocarina of Time.

You must be extremely lazy. The link is right underneath the trailer(In the movie selections box on the right).

That was pretty cool. I wish they'd release everything they filmed that didn't make it into the trailer. Or better yet, they actually make the movie. =D

It is a shame they cut out so much footage. And, jeez, I thought Ganondorf and Impa were CG. The making-of clearly showed me that they were real.
