Oh, come on, there's no slippery slope to the technology becoming available, the only danger is that these devices will become installed in every TV so you can't choose to get one without it, then facial recognition, hook up to some central database, and government control.

Man, advertising agencies are going to want in on this bad. Now they can show you commercials for things only you would be interested in buying. Instead of seeing commercials for health insurance you'll start seeing more ads for Coke and McDonald's.
