Sci-fi readers have lost a most wonderful author. May he now rest in peace.

This sucks.

Well, no-one can say he didn't leave his mark on the world. 2001 will always live down in infamy.

It's too bad, but the news of Terry Pratchett's condition is more upsetting.

*sigh* He will be sorely missed. Am I the only one who will remember him primarily for "Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World?" (both the book and the TV series). I mean, obviously, there's 2001, but heck, he's part of the reason for my ever-present interest in the paranormal (aside from my love of Ghostbusters).

Infamy? What are you talking about? Infamy means famous for being evil or awful. Clarke's books were amazing! I read and loved the entire 2001 series, as well as the Rama series.

A sad day for Science Fiction indeed.

This has been a terrible months for deaths, famous and otherwise.

I can't wait until spring. Maybe see some flowers blooming in April...

I was always a big fan of the 2001-3001 books. I also loved the film 2001 and many of Clarke's short stories. He was a genius and he will be missed.

This is kind of crass. It just rubs me the wrong way.

Really? Hmm, useful to know for the future.

Looks like the world got a little less boring.

Looks like you still don't have to have an imagination and a high IQ to access the internet.
