That Piranha plant had a bad dream.

I just noticed that the plant was humming the Mario theme (seemed that way, anyhow).

Anyone else ever wonder... Why is it that Mario can go down a pipe that's still occupied by a piranha plant? Bugs the hell out of me - seems to me, if one of those monstrosities is still in there, and Mario tries to warp, he should end up going directly into its mouth.

.. What a funky, bizarre universe. Nothing reminds me that more than these comics.

Uh oh! That starman wore off! Guess you shouldn't run to your friends, telling them about it! Especially if they're having a little tea party or something!

At least it was just cake and not "hot coffee". Although, cake can be just as bad:

In Soviet Russia, Mario eats Pirahna Plants!

I love the Marioverse. It's so bright and happy for all it's stuff that would be weird and creepy in earthlier contexts. And everything has cute little eyes for some reason. Everything.

But then I get thinking deeper about the whole concept of what stumbling into a universe that seems to function like this would really be like for what were supposedly plumbers from real life Brooklyn. Who also used to work in a wrecking crew and one of them battled a renegade gorilla on a construction building who tried to capture his girlfriend who apparently still left him afterwards.

Having grown to be a pervert over the years, and to enjoy romantic stories, there's something that actually makes me smile about thinking about Mario and Toadstool (Luigi and Daisy too... but probably not all together, that'd get yucky. Toadstool and Daisy though...) being serious, these days. I almost wish I could find some good rule 34 art.

As of late, it seems that the Mario universe has been retconned, so that Mario and Luigi's Brooklyn origin has all been swept under the rug, and that they've always been from the Mushroom Kingdom. Personally, I prefer the "old" Mario and Luigi, who spoke with Brooklyn accents and actually were plumbers. Can you imagine Mario running and jumping around, and instead of making goofy, jovial, stereotypical Italian noises, making goofy, jovial, stereotypical Brooklyn noises? It would rock! They would be these cute, silly Brooklynites in a fun cartoon world. I'd love it.
