A few websites out there won't let you watch videos online unless you're in the united states. The sites I'm talking about are usually television company sites. For example. I want to watch episodes of The Office on the NBC site, but it knows I'm not in the states. Is there a way to bypass this?

www.freeproxysite.com is the best one that I have found.

First of all, that's BS that they do that to you.

Second, if you want to use a proxy, make sure the servers are in the USA, otherwise you'll have the same problem.

MSU, I tried YouTube, but there is absolutely nothing on there that I was looking for. Thanks guys though for the help. I hope the proxies work.

TorrentSpy does the same thing, only in reverse. If you're from the USA, you can't use their services or browse their torrents. A shame; They were really, really good at having stuff there.

TorrentSpy has porn ads all over.

Also I can't believe YouTube didn't work. Well if all else fails, torrent the stuff. [shrug] And I have a feeling that proxies won't fail, so just go for that.

Yeah the proxies worked. The reason why YouTube didn't have anything is because I guess NBC pulled all its content off YouTube and I could only watch The Office on the NBC site. But whatever.

My experience with proxies is that they're extremely slow. There have been times I've wanted to use one, but I usually give up waiting for pages to load. It's like dialup all over again.

I used a proxy once to download stuff off of a Russian website that wouldn't let people from outside of Russia download the content. Once I found a good proxy everything worked fine.

Also, I think it's rather odd that they would treat Canada as a 'foreign country' in that way, since NBC broadcasts the same shows there as they do in the US.
