I've been away from Zelda for a couple years and I doubt if very many even remember me, but I'm back and have a few questions for whoever can answer them for me. I have 2.10 loaded and now I see that there is a 2.10.2. What's the difference? Can I play all 2.10 quests on 2.10.2? Do I have to download the full version or just the "changed Files" file? Is it worth the trouble of downloading it? If I remember correctly 2.10 was pretty good. Did some bug appear that needed fixing or is this just for better quest making. Sorry for so many questions but I have a lot of catching up to do. Thanks for your help.

2.10.2 is just a more updated version of 2.10 with bug fixes. You should be able to play 2.10 quests on it without any problems. Some major bugs, such as the MIDI playback problem for one example, were fixed but this version was released for those who don't want to use the 2.5 builds.

2.5? Is this an even more updated version. And why wouldn't people want to use it? I ave truly fallen behind by being so absent for so long.

2.5 is in the alpha/beta build stages. It has a lot more features but it's still subject to instability and changes as it's being bug tested for a final release. You can find the latest build here.

Does 2.10.2 work on Vista? Because I'm being told that I'm using the wrong build for quests, and 2.10 doesn't work on Vista.

I don't think it does. You will have to deal with the issues that come up when playing 2.10 or older quests in the 2.5 builds. If something odd happens, always ask though. We are reporting bugs like that so that these quests do play correctly in 2.5 so we need to know when something happens that's not supposed to.

*sigh* Well, I'll have to deal with people complaining about using "the right build", when I can't even use it.

You should use the latest build from there and help test backwards support for 2.10, 1.93b184, 1.92b183 and 1.90,

backwards support for these major versions is one of the biggest things that is being worked on in 2.5 since 2.10, 1.93b184, 1.92b183 and 1.90 have issue's when playing quests made in earlier versions of the player.

Fajz very good to see you around again ;)
I know for sure you want to play Lost Isle from Darkflamewolf and Petoe , you need a special build version for that one , you find all the info about it when you download the quest , for the rest just use what the questmaker say you have to use the less problems you run into ............see you around it's really nice indeed to see your name again on the boards :)

but saying that to everyone results in less people testing backwards support in 2.5 which means it will take much longer to get it's backwards support fully debugged.

Franpa not every player is a tester , there are players around that stop ZC totally if they keep running into bugs , and I think you only know when some strange things happen if they worked in the version they where meant to be in and don't work if you play in the last beta

ZC 2.10.2 works for me on Vista using ZC Launcher. The old 2.10 doesn't.
