It looks like Toshiba will discontinue their HD-DVD line as Blu-Ray has the backing of major studios as well as Netflix and Blockbuster to distribute their disks exclusively. That sucks I bought a HD-DVD before last Christmas.

Yeah, but didn't Xbox 360s have HD-DVD?

You can buy the player but it's not built in like the PS3.

It's really a shame too, because HD-DVD has better data stability, but Sony marketed them to death by convincing morons that blue-ray was "badass".

Well they had to. If HD DVD became the standard imagine what that would do to the PS3 in the long run.

...Well, what else were thye going to say? "Well...HD has bettter data stability...and Blue ray isn't any better...but...still buy blue ray!" ?

...:P If Blue ray dies, then Their PS3 loses One of its main pillars. And seeing as how they never hyped it as a game playing console...they would be very, very screwed.

...or...it could push them to put som eeffort into making really good games. It's a toss up.
