View Full Version : Side warp doesn't go to right screen

I've got a side warp set up to switch between DMaps, but instead of going to the left (Warp from 7A to 79), it goes to the right (Warp from 7A to 7B). I've checked, and everything is set up right.

Type: Scrolling Warp
DMap: 1-Hyrule Field
Screen: 79

Triggers: Left one selected.

Yet, instead of going to screen 79, it moves to screen 7B. Even when I click on go, it takes me to 7B...

Is the Dmap type an overworld, or a BS overworld?

Yep, they're all Overworld.

On a side note, one of my DMaps doesn't have the tan map 'outline', while the other 2 do.

What tan map outline? Do you think you could post pictures?

Hmmm, the maps are different? Check that all three are Overworlds.

Could you upload and post your quest with the problem?

Into the ZC database? Sure.

No, just upload it to any website (MegaUpload, 2shared, etc.) and post a link here.

I have it up on my site, but it's not the version with all the bugs and things. I'll say when I've updated it. The most recent thing I've got here has all these problems, on top of the problem with appearing to the left in a door:

1) After switching to the Hyrule Field DMap from the Kakariko Village DMap, the DMap does not switch back to the Kakariko village one when you go to it unless you move 1 screen in Hyrule Field first.
2) When switching from the Lake Hylia DMap back to the Hyrule Field DMap, it instead scrolls back to one screen to the right in the Lake Hylia DMap.
3) A previous working timed warp no longer works- it instead goes one screen to the right, just like the previous bug.

Site's in my sig.

And we are supposed to check out the problem when the quest is passworded... how? ;)

Oh, sorry. I'll PM passwords to anyone who wants it. It's a pain to re-upload the whole quest.

Hm, that's strange. I took a look at it, and it seems to work fine for me. Nothing wrong is happening. But I'm using an alpha build. Maybe it's a 2.10 bug. This is really odd.

Hmmmm... Does the version (quest version) you have include DMap swapping and music? The bug occurs when you switch from the beach(Lake Hylia) to the grassy area(Hyrule Field).

I'll double check, but I think it worked perfectly.

I think there was a bug in 2.10 that negated warps if you hit "go"...or go to..

? Could this be fixed then by removing the warp, then re-creating it without clicking go?

Yeah, just hit "done". ....or get 2.10.2. or a 2.5 beta.

If that's a bug it's new to me. I used that all the time to make sure I was setting up my warps correctly and I never had that problem.

I reset all the side warps without pressing 'go', and the same error occurred.

I found the problem. At first, you had the DMap that had the error as a Dungeon type (it was DMap 1 - Hyrule Field). You moved the DMap offset slider to the right two clicks. You then set the type back to Overworld. For some reason, the DMap was still offset by two screens when you switched it to Overworld (this is a bug that should be fixed in 2.5 if it isn't already). Therefore, any destination to this DMap would be scooted over twice to the right.

To fix:

1) Go to Quest -> DMap.
2) Double-click DMap 1.
3) Change the type to Dungeon.
4) Move the slider to the left twice.
5) Change the type back to Overworld.
6) Hit "Okay" then "Done" and SAVE!!!

Thanks for the fix Pineconn. I have, however, decided to go ahead and switch development to the latest 2.5 beta(737 at the moment). And yes, that bug, as well as many others, were automatically fixed during the switch.
