For some reason when I set anything as the 'under layer' of 1 and 2, it covers up the layer Link's on, 0. I have the lower layer assigned to the same screen number on map 4(I'm using map 3 for the normal land ATM). Here are some pictures:

See how I color the lower screen with blue, but it covers up the mountain which is supposedly supposed to be 'above' layer 1/2.

Uhhh....... This is how the layer system works:

(Highest)
Layer 6
Layer 5
Flying enemies
Layer 4
Layer 3
Link
Non-flying enemies
Layer 2
Layer 1
Layer 0
(Lowest)

Therefore, layers 1 and 2 are supposed to cover layer 0. Try this instead:

Put your mountain on layer 0. Next, place the sky tile down as the rest of the tiles (still on layer 0). Replace the two corner mountain tiles with the sky tile. Set up the two corner mountain tiles on layer 1 of this screen. As a result, the transparent (black) part of the corner mountain tiles will cover up the sky tiles. This will look and is correct.

Looks like I need to be reading another tutorial.

Allow me to quote from that tutorial:

Layer 0 is the current screen being worked on and is said to be the layer Link is on
-Layers 1 & 2 are underneath Link, all enemies, and items
-Layers 3 & 4 are above Link and walk enemies but below flying enemies
-Layers 5 & 6 are above everything

....yeah, that's probably not worded properly. Actually, that's worded really badly. Although Link is said to be "on" layer 0, and 1 and 2 are supposed to be beneath Link, they're still above 0. I guess you could say that Link stands on layer 2.

(Well, actually, Link is between layers 2 and 3).

Technically, that guide you quoted is correct. But if you would have tested it out in ZC, Link would have walked over the sky tiles. Just follow that little guide that I posted a few posts up:

(Highest)
Layer 6
Layer 5
Flying enemies
Layer 4
Layer 3
Link
Non-flying enemies
Layer 2
Layer 1
Layer 0
(Lowest)

Well, I'm not using a 2.5 beta, I'm using 2.10. Pineconn solved the problem pretty much anyway.
