As many of you know, Pineconn's first quest End of Time is my favorite quest there is. But it is in clasic graphics. So recently, I decided to start upgrading the graphics. For that evolved my newest project, which has grown into something quite larger than the original. So here is the latest info on my newest quest: End of Time Redux:

Story:
Long ago, the Hero of Courage defeated Ganon and sealed him away. Years passed, and Ganon eventually escaped from his prison. Then, using the power of the Four Sword, the Hero of Time split himself into four and sealed Ganon withing the blade. That seal should have lasted for all time. but it didn't. After a while, Ganon broke free of the blade and launched a surprise attack on Hyrule Castle. Link tried to defend it, but Ganon threw open a portal in time, sucking Link into an alternate deminsion. With Link sealed away in time, Ganon made quick work of Hyrule. After a while, the portal wore off and Link reappeared. However, he found Hyrule desolate, and empty, with monsters roaming the land. Nearly all signs of civilization had vanished, and the only town left was run my moblins. A grand story was about to unfold. A story filled with corruption, underground secret societies of freedom fighters, courage, and betayal. So Link set off to attempt to find Zelda and see if there was any hope left. And meanwhile, Ganon waits in the very core of the earth, sceming the final hours of Hyrule. Thus begins the epic of the End of Time.

Features:
Although the game might not feature as much graphical detail as Pineconn's remake, you will find it quite sophisticated. There are custom enemies, advanced scripts (such as rolling), plot twists, sidequests with features such as a season system, a password system to link this remake with Pineconn's, and more!

Screenshots:

Here is a link to a page showing some side by side old and new screenshots. http://www.freewebs.com/russad/EoTbefore_and_after.jpg. I know some don't have much detail, and some use tiles incorrectly, but these will be fixed before the release. And sorry, but it's a jpeg image, so there is some color loss. Internet Exploror users, if the page gets zoomed out, click on the picture to zoom in on it.

And I should have a demo up shortly.

The password system sounds interesting... What exactly will this allow you to do? Will it be like with oracle of ages and oracle of seasons?

Oh, are you planning on using that Number Code script from the showcase? This sounds awesome.

I haven't seen that... link?

I thought your screens looked better actually.
I think I've just really gone off Pure.

You really could do with adding some detail to your screens, removing all the straight edges and putting those bits of clouds on a layer below Link though.

Yes, it will be somewhat like that. Basically, in Pineconn's version, you beat a secret level and get a password. Then in my version, you enter the password, and get acess to one of the sidequests (which are designed to take advantage of 2.5's new features). Then, you beat the sidequest, get some neat items, and get a set of directions. You go into Pineconn's version, go into ther cave sytem, follow the directions, and get an item.

Yes, I am going to use that script, if I can get it to work.

I know. Like I said, I am adding a lot more detail. But the hardest thing will be the cliffs. With the clasic tileset, you can just put down cliffs however you want. When you are using LttP mountains, it gets kind of tricky to recreate randomly placed cliffs.

So basically, if you want better looking screens and a quest that really stays true to the original, play Pineconn's version. If you want one that has a good storyline and a lot of new features, play my version.

Ah, that makes sense actually.
It took me a very long time to get used to how to use even GB mountains properly after I'd used those FFA ones for so long, and then when I went onto aLttP mountains, it was a nightmare to start with.

I still think your screens looked better though =P

Oh actually when you put it like that your screen is quite superior.

Both of them use far too many trees though in my opinion.
Screens really don't need that many trees, brush is much better to use for boundaries.

As I said though, I think I've just gone off Pure a bit really.

Well, the thing is that the trees' boundarys are 1 combo by 2 combos; they are small enough to use a lot.

Remember that this is a remake. I'm trying to make the screens as close as possible to the original. In that particular screen, you are faced with a small tree maze, so I had to copy that into the remake. If you'd look at my other overworld screenshots, trees are used much less often.

Besides, Lost Isle has a ton of trees on each screen in a "field" area, and the overworld is beautiful.

Hrm well, I'll take your word for it.

DFW's style is good, however it's not the best ever.
There are plenty of better overworlds than her in my opinion.

Perhaps something like that.

EDIT: That's not mine by the way =P

Well yeah, that's using a lot of mountain, which I'm doing in my remake, too.

Like I said, Pineconn's will be much better graphically. However, mine has more features and a better storyline. And, if Pineconn will let me, it will have custom bosses. Pineconn, can I please put in custom bosses. I know you said I couldn't before, but they add to the experiance so much.

I did? Well, go ahead. I have no problem with it.

Yes! Finally! *Does a little victory dance* And by the way, you did say that.

(by me)
And should I try to make custom bosses for the levels, or would you perfer to make custom bosses, or would you like to keep the normal enemy bosses.

(by Pineconn)
I truly planned on keeping the entire game's "feel" intact. That goes with bosses, too.

Well, in Pineconn's defense, that's not a straight-up "no".

Well, I interpeted it that way. Good news: I already have the base for a Ganon battle set up, as well as an escape from Ganon's base in two minutes level. This is going to be awesome!
