View Full Version : [Winter 08] Ancient Memories

With the new DoR pre-release out, I started messing around with it. All of my main problems with the old DoR were fixed and it became much more appealing to me. So with my first few test screens an idea and story started rushing out.

Now the thing with this quest is that you are in an ruined ancient city, you never leave it. The overworld is purely the ruins (don't let this make you think it will be a small overworld though.) The dungeons will be different underground and interior parts of the ruins. I've gotten pikaguy900 (Matthew over at PureZC) to work on the interior parts when the development gets a little farther along.

These OW screens take a very long time to make, so this quest is also very far from completion just like my other quest. I've been working on this one more so than Despair so I should hopefully have a demo out soon.

Very interesting and promising. I assume that the overworld will still have "areas," or else it would look a little bland, right? Maybe not as extreme as a forest or desert, but something.

But yes, those shots look very appealing. I'd say the bottom-right one is easily worthy of SotW.

But, yes it's all on an Ancient City with maybe 3-4 screens outside of the complex where you go into a cave system or go to get an item. However, there is different areas of the complex, like a mine, and hopefully a coliseum.
