View Full Version : [Winter 08] Despair

Haven't post here in awhile, but that doesn't mean I'm gone for good. Here is one of the two projects I've been working on for awhile. This one is called Despair. It's a very dark quest with many different lands to explore. It is using PTUX and originally started out as a group project with Evile (Evan_the_great) over at PureZC. He has since dropped out and I've been mainly tweaking around with the item/weapon sprites and a very in depth intro. This one is set to come out...well in a long time, I'm working less on this one since I started Ancient Memories, but I have not dropped it.

So this games development is at around 2%, custom palettes will be used for a more dark feeling.

Niiice. Don't let anyone tell you that one can't make the "cakelayer" mountains look good. ;)

Dang, it's a shame that your quests are so early in development.

Well, here we go, the demo boss is up and running! I got a video of it up finally and here it is. There's no sound because camstudio decided to start being all mean and get errors on me whenever I tried to record audio :(. There is music already picked out and the dragon even roars when you hit it! The death sequence is also very cool but it is not featured in this video, you'll have to wait for the demo to see that. The frame rate is kinda slow too cause of bad conversion to a .flv because youtube wouldn't let me upload my .avi file. Also, the dragon is not talking in the beginning, a subrosian is, this will be able to realize on the demo.

Thank you so much Joe123, Gleeok, and Frario (tSR) for scripts, and sprites. I couldn't have done it without you guys.

Haha, that was a very creative boss! I'd likely never have thought of shooting the "water magic" at the Subrosian, though, without the dialogue.

Ah, scripting. Something I must learn.

Or something you can get other people to do for you. :D
