I discovered some fascinated stuff on youtube that I wanted to share, and figured what the heck, since no one yelled at me for posting a link to that Riker thing (and the substantially more impressive, but less stodgily hilarious Doc Brown Microsoft show). So here's some amazing stuff, plus a couple things I threw in to make the post more cohesive and substantial:

The first time "Weird Al" Yankovic was ever on TV, performing "Another One Rides The Bus" with some assistant dude, before he had an album (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNlOL8tBVL8&feature=related)

Pre-Thriller solo Michael Jackson video "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrPTDU40hO4)

Devo before MTV, doing "Jocko Homo" and some other odd stuff (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDPDaphgR3k)
And because I like them, Devo after Whip It, on David Letterman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyXY4FHZVUA) in the 80s (complete with a clip of the much younger Letterman) doing "That's Good" from my favorite Devo album

Star Wars original 1977 trailer, with unfinished effects and no movie music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gvqpFbRKtQ)
Empire Strikes Back trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6j9ofCFRM0)... possibly voiced by Harrison Ford, I've never been able to figure this one out for sure. Sounds more like Chevy Chase, so if it's actually Harrison Ford, he's being a real jackass.
Return of the Jedi trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pxW6Y4gYIU). Not as funny, but hey, it's a trap! Also Luke has a blue lightsaber here. And it blatantly spoils Han coming back, something you wouldn't have known yet if you saw this in a theater.

Original promo for Star Trek: The Next Generation, from the Star Trek IV VHS release (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AayLwwvn77s)

Super Mario Bros. Super Show live action segments with Sergeant Slaughter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgEJ5uGT6V0)
Magic Johnson on the SMBSS also (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns0Q2pra_aM)

It's the Legend of Zelda and it's really rad! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ApypJw-JAI) This one links to some funny stuff too, like a Nintendo Cereal System ad.

A bunch of awesome Japanese Famicom and Super Famicom ads, mostly Mario and Zelda (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tjZp-VESpU&feature=related). Check it out at 4:55 when they call it "Supa Mario Burazu 4", and as a warning it suddenly gets loud right around 6 minutes in when they start with the Mother 2 ads.

1982 japanese ad for the strangely familiar looking Nintendo Game and Watch two-screen games... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZz8A4aebmA&NR=1) (why are they saying "No"? That's not Japanese)

YTMND has been around since atleast 2001. I've seen all of these back in high school. Still neat though, I guess.

You got the long famicom ad for The Hyrule Fantasy in there? With the short anime scenes? it's a hard to find video, but I could link you to it. There's some short anime scenes of Link and the old man, and Link with the merchant. Also, Link drawing his sword in a dungeon.

That's pretty awesome, Old-skool. Thanks! I find it really interesting that the gameplay footage shows a "PICK ANY ONE YOU WANT" type screen with the boomerang and sword, clearly in the first screen cave. And the final dungeon music playing in level 8 (given that it's a simpler piece, I wonder if they made that song first? Or maybe they just thought it'd be better for the promo video for some reason). Far out! Must've been a beta/epsilon/whatever. I notice a lot of that is art that's been used (in tiny, poor quality) on the ZC site in the past.

To be honest, the only reason I really posted this was for that first link because I was so amazed to find such ancient Weird Al. I just threw the rest of that on there so the post was (supposedly) slightly less stupid, and as a rare excuse to try to hock Devo on people, because I love some of Devo's stuff.

And yes, I do realize people have probably seen some of that before. I tried to get more obscure things, but eh, none of SMBSS is obscure anymore thanks to the awesome DVDs and uber youtube uploading thereafter. And I think the Zelda rad song got it's own fad, and fad's aren't rad, they're bad, and make some people sad. But I think people like that are mad!

So yeah, just random junk. AGN's slow so I thought someone might get a kick out of it. Plus super ancient Weird Al. With some weird assistant dude! On a show that can't keep track of what song he's doing even though he only apparently had two recordings! And he called it "My Sharoma"! How much more rad can you get than that? Without a nuclear device?

And yes, I know a gazillion people are sick of this (http://timetraveler.ytmnd.com/), but darn it, it's groovy enough to be compared- not superior, but compared- to the likes of All Your Base. It's tainted, though, because apparently it all goes back to some Jay Leno thing (http://jaylenosafetynotguaranteed.ytmnd.com/), making me sad. It seems Jay Leno defeated the mullet man and changed history, resulting in a timeline where it's all supposedly some joke on his show. I fear for the mullet man's safety. Still, I know he'd push it to the limit.
