Legends speak of the 3 Golden Goddesses that descended upon the chaos that was Hyrule…

That Din, Goddess of Power and Fire, cultivated the Land and created the red Earth…
Of Nayru, Goddess of Wisdom and Water, gave the spirit of Law to the World…
And Farore, Goddess of Courage and Wind, who produced all Life that would uphold the Law…

However…

There is another Goddess, who is Ruler of the 3…
That Goddess is Gaia, Goddess of Heart and Earth, who created the Stars and Heavens,
amidst where Din, Nayru, and Farore created Hyrule
Din, Nayru, and Farore each split their respective Triforces and hid them…

One at the center of a Forest …

One in an Ancient Temple…

One in the farthest reaches of an Abandoned Dungeon…

One on the other side of a Unbounded Plain…

One at the top of a Tower…

One across a vast Ocean…

Gaia foresaw that Evil would try to steal the Triforce for its own purposes, so she split the Triforce of Heart in two,
and hid them where she hoped no mortals could find them……

One at the bottom of a Volcano…

One amongst the Heavens…
Once all 4 Triforces are combined, they fuse to become the Fabled Tetraforce, capable of granting 3 wishes.

There is, however, one small catch…
If the Holder of the Tetraforce is unbalanced in preference of any of the 4 qualities,
the Holder is Destroyed, along with all of existence.
Only Gaia will remain, to create anew...

That's more or less the prologue to my quest (all I need is people to help make an intro sequence, PM me if interested)

This quest will contain 9 dungeons, with appropriate difficulty levels. All their names are in Latin (except level 9, instead, one of the over world's name is in Latin). An intro dungeon, and 2 (possibly 3) Mini Dungeons. There WILL be an extensive side-quest. This I vow. Screen shots will be posted tomorrow. But each dungeon is themed, in this order:

Forest/woodland; Generic Ancient Temple, Wooden stronghold (ish); Ice; Desert; Water; Cave/Fire; Sky/Clouds; and Level 9 will be a mix of all of them. Level 6 is an entirely side view dungeon.

The sound effects have been HEAVILY modified, so that they are more pleasing to the ears (as opposed to the original SFX which made my ears bleed.)

There are quite a few 8-bit tiles, MANY imported graphics, and overall visually pleasing (In my opinion).

As far as MIDI's go, there is a wide range of MIDI's spanning almost every Zelda Game to date, plus a few from other games, and (currently) 1 made by me.

Items also span across many Zelda games, including Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, A Link to the Past, Link's awakening, both NES Zeldas, and others I can't recall including in my quest.

There are MANY custom enemies, some modifications of built-in enemies, others made from scratch. (All the enemies from Level 6 are from Zelda 2 ;)
That's it as far as description goes.

Looks great, I'll most likely be playing this when it comes out. One suggestion, change the link tiles. They are overused and really don't fit in with the graphics, so try looking for a new set of Link tiles. Other than that, looks good.

Wow... The screenshots loook absolutely incredible! The storyline sounds great too. I can't wait for this quest to come out.

This is one I'll have to try when it's out. The intro story sounds pretty good, and I like the screenies you've posted. But like DFW said, I would change the Link graphic. Other than that, it looks like a good quest to watch for.

I say keep those Link tiles. The only other good Link tiles avalible are the DoR ones, and they don't really look good with the set you are using.

But once again, I am amazed by how much better the screens look then they did in the original demo. I will definitly be one of the first people to play this quest.

I really cannot wait for you to release this quest. :) Please, drop out of school, quit your job, and work on it 24/7.

But I agree with DFW - you need a new Link sprite.

Another Link sprite would be nice, but all in all, it looks like this quest will be worth playing! I'm looking foward to it! (Nice demo of the game, btw, I'm also slightly intrigued by the 10000 rupee count,)

This quest looks awesome :D I don't say that about every quest. And that story exactly like the one I came up with at school except for the name of the complete triangle you read my mind  hope you luck and I shale play this when released keep up the good work!

-Edit: dont mean to sound geeky but you got courage and wisdom's places mixed up (courage is on the right wisdom the left)

I always thought Courage was on the left. The Triforce always showed up on Link's Left hand, Zelda's right hand, and Gannondorf's was held in front of him whenever his was shown. [OoT, that is, shrug]

It showed up on Link's left hand because he is left handed. But it was the piece on the right that glowed when it appeared on his hand.

*fires up PJ64k and OoT ROM*

If any of you ever beta test for me in the future, I want you all to look out for tiny things like this, I want it to be (physically, in terms of bugs and whatnot) PERFECT. ^_^

Speaking of beta testing, I could test for you, if you want.

Sure, when I'm done building it. The site has rough percentages of all major area's. when they all say 99% or 100%, is when I deem it worthy to start testing and will be version 0.9 How I plan to go about it is like this:

4 waves of 2 people each.

Wave 1: Plays through it, reports any and all bugs, I fix, release version 0.93

Wave 2: same as above, release version 0.96 (to be tested, not released to the general public)

Wave 3: Same as above, version 0.99

Final wave: 2 certain people that are the best of the best at testing, version 1.0

Then, after all that (or after whichever wave doesn't report any bugs), I will play through it myself, to weed out any obscure bugs that may still be present.

Submit to PZC and AGN the next day, finalize the site for it, and break out the booze to celebrate XD

Lost Isle had 3 waves of testers, and even that, according to the bugs found afterwards, wasn't enough. LOL

probably update the screenshot of outside dungeon 4... remove the minimap so that we don't know where to go for it :P and i assume the first screenshot has a animating layer? if no then the layer looks a tad ugly :)

I tried to get your demo but all I get is an error page at mediafire.
Hope you fix it soon. I'd love to try your demo out.

The link to the (VERY old) demo in my sig is fixed, have at it! It SHOULD open in 254 (http://www.zelda.sjnetwork.net/alphabuilds/254-windows.zip) If it doesn't, I'll hunt down the correct version myself.
