Life gauge tiles/subscreen editor

Can someone tell me how to assign the appropriate minitiles to the life gauge piece in the subscreen editor?

Select insert mini tile. Select a tile to use, and then select a corner of the tile to use. Each mini tile is one quarter of a tile. I hope that helps you out a little.

Just for reference, if you're inserting just a mini tile, how do you select the corner you want to use?
I couldn't work out how to do it.

What I actually meant was which slot do I place the minitiles to make a functional full>half>empty heart gauge image?

Ummm, I don't know off the top of my head, but if you open a new file with the default tileset, you can look and see how it's set up there.

There should be an easier way to do this. I would post this to the suggestions forums but they're closed. Damn.
I was thinking about something like "1 Heart" "3/4 Heart" "1/2 Heart" and "1/4 Heart".
