ok in the combo editor, what do the A skip Y: and A skip X: boxes do? do they serve any purpose?

It's got to do with combo animation. It allows you to implement a "frame skip", where the combo's animation sequence skips over certain frames.

Useful for making large freeform combos that animate.

oh ok so it just makes it skip frames... so how do i set them up? is the A skip X the beginning part to be skipped and the A skip Y the end of the skip sequence?
