killing gannon

I need help on pretty much every quest that as soething to do with gannon. How do you defeat him? I fought him for like 10 minutes and he still didn't die :weirdo:

Slash him untill he freezes (and turns red in original graphics), and then shoot him with a silver arrow. He will explode.
