Halo 3 map pack is coming... for $10

Except that the way they normally do it is to start inserting the maps into the normal playlists before they become free. Then if the match decides to pick one of those maps, you get booted. So if you don't buy the maps, you're kinda fucked.

Granted, they became free after a while. But then so did Halo 2's DLC.

Paid DLC is less of a "Bungie" problem and more of a "Microsoft" and "Electronic Arts" problem. Also, if I recall correctly, in Halo 2 there were special matchmaking playlists for the paid DLC until they became free, then they were integrated into the main playlists.

Well I wasn't around for most of the map packs in Halo 2 so I'm going mostly on hearsay. So I could be completely wrong about the playlists.
I just think $10 is too much for 3 maps, especially when these same map packs were $5 last generation.
