When using the Subscreen Editor for the Linux Build of ZQuest, it doesn't automatically update the display when you press a key on the keyboard, so I get pretty lost when working in there. D:

Doesn't update what display? You mean that objects don't move when you hit the arrow keys, etc.?

The display that's sent to your screen, DN.

Edit: Here's a better description.

It's as if somebody hit the pause button on the subscreen, for no animations take place on the subscreen, and the display of the subscreen doesn't update until there's a menu on the screen. (Right click, or the top menus) Of which it advances to the frame it should be at, and then stays there at that state until you make a menu come up again.

Check out the new version Sephiroth and tell me what's going on. Most likely it's been compiled wrong. From what Koopa told DD that there were issues when he compiled it. So try my build.

Still happens in the latest build. Open the proposed1st.qst file and go to modify the subscreen, or modify the subscreen in the default tileset, and select an item, then try to use the arrow keys to move it around. It doesn't "appear" to move around, but if you right-click the subscreen, it'll "update" what's displayed to the screen as the menu appears.

Hmm sounds like an allegro issue to me. I did the steps that you said you are having and it's not happening to me. I need to get around making a how to about compiling allegro for linux.
