Having trouble using version 2.10.2

I downloaded version 2.10.2, but I can't get it working. Sometimes I'm having problems because "alleg42.dll cannot be found". Does anyone have any advice?

Well if it's not working try and locate alleg or download another version that has it there,did you move it or what,it has to be in the same file as all the other zc files is it in the folder?

My response will be color-coded. It's in C:\Program Files\ZC2.10\zc2101w I don't know what other version would have alleg42.dll I only moved the entire folder at once in order to add it to Program Files. It's in the 2.10.2 folder.

Delete it all and redownload + reinstall, and dont move it.

And yet again, make sure its the right alleg because a lot of the new versions use the same dll name.

From the start download it into program files,then there will be 2 icons on the desktop those will be there for you to click on(and play zcm or editor) so you don't have to mess with the folder again untell you add quests or tilestes then do the same but instead download them into the zc folder:)

Look for the exe file and make ur own

Well if you want you can download the newest beta (626)and then just read the (mr.z help) thread and I have provided what to and what not to do with that version,but yeah the version beta(626)is located here at:


shardstrom.com download and exract it then the icons and allegg will be in the folder you don't have to move them from the forlder also.


If you dont want to thats fine I will think for a min and see what other advice I can provied.

2.10 also isnt much less stable than 2.10.2, 2.10.2 introduced new bugs.

2.10 is still considered stable, although the last 99% stable release was 1.92, nobody uses that anymore due to limited functionality.

I can offer you this info: http://shardstorm.com/ go there download (626) beta version and you will be set,but like I said there is quest corruption freqently with beta versions so after you download it go to the (mr.z help)thread I have provied some info to avoid the quest corruption;)
