Ok, question: Does an MP3 loop perfectly as a dmap loaded song? Because it sure doesn't in ZQuest. :eyebrow:

How do you put MP3s in your quest anyway?

No, they don't, there is a dead space in between the loop, no matter how tight you get the mp3.
I reported this long ago as a bug. ;)

Don't. Crappy idea. A single Mp3 file would be larger than most quests. The bloat attached to using this kind of music is unbelievable.

Midi is your friend.

I'm aware of this. I wouldn't consider using this in a proper quest, I'm making a joke quest with my friend, which will encompass one MP3, which isn't really too much to handle.

And I would still like to know how to do it ¬_¬

To add Mp3s, go to the dmap editor and select the dmap you want the Mp3 to play on. Under the music tab, click the load button and load the Mp3. Note that the Mp3 MUST be in the same folder as the qst file or it will not play. After 2.5, there is going to be an option to load Mp3s like midis.

Thankyou.

Why does it play so quietly compared to a MIDI?

That is a bug that the developers have yet to work out. I know there was a way to raise the volume with a different program, but I'm not sure.

ill open it in audacity and pump up the gain a bit.

Personally I think it's the sound buffer, yet we don't access to increase its size unlike ZC.

Secondly, the bug does keep from properly looping MP3s. I had edited a MP3 to loop properly(it was originally done for a ring tone), yet there's the little break between the beginning and the end.

Does this work for Tracker files as well? And do they loop properly.

I think the dead space problem might have something to do with the file type itself, or the way Windows handles MP3's, I remeber haveing the same issue with Game Maker so I don't think its ZC.
