The Tileset/Loose tile/Sprite exchange thread!

Alright fellas, it's about time we need a thread like this one seeing how there havn't been a whole lot of new tilesets in a long time, and now it seems that the next ZC version may not be that far off either, so i'm hoping this will inspire some people to share, or grab, anything that they need or would like to see in a 2.5 set.





I'll post what I have on hand at the moment, please take anything you wan't from it, and I'll put up some more when I get around to it.


Megaman! -I tried to make this the most organized set on the planet, but it's unfinished.

NES MegamanSet-b492 (http://www.mediafire.com/?ftww02zzyix) ver 0.4 -It is unfinished and incomplete. If anyone would like to help put this set together and make a quest with it PM me, and i'll clean up the palletes and finish the item sprites. There is however many enemy sprites yet to be added. I consider the tiles 95% completely done, and only animating tiles need to be set up. But as I said, sprites are another story.

Includes DW 1-4 NES tiles and palletes, and Overworld, Caves, and Charlock Castle from the graphical remake.
This ones for 509 I believe...can't remember for sure what I saved it in. Just use any newer alpha.

These are .png format and are 16 colors or less, so you're going to have to rip them.

Final Fantasy 1 set that I ripped. Yes, I know the white/grey colors are reversed on the town tiles. I havn't got around to fixing that....

Some recolored and redrawn Lich sprites. Although they don't animate, they're still great.

I love ff4/ff2 tiles,and whould love to see a tileset
or at least a wide set of loose ff4 tiles
and nice work with thw others
I need to work a bit more myself
to add to the zc community.

but I have no idea were people even get thease tiles
I mean I have ff4 for my ps1,but that does not help
me.If there is a legal way to get ff4 tiles can u tell me?



Then I shall see about makeing a tileset a ff4/2 tileset.


But that will be hard even if I got the tiles.

www.vgmaps.com. The best resource I could find when making my FFA tileset. I did still have to rip some tiles from a ROM, but most of them were there.

Actually, after looking, they only have the overworld. Although that might still be good to rip. And if you own a game, it's legal to have a copy of the ROM on your PC you know ;)
So you can rip away from one if you want.

Good luck with making a tileset, it's not as easy as you might think, but once you have the palettes set up it's much easier. Good luck and all. Don't give up once you've started :P

EDIT: Oh, and a sprite sheet would probably be useful also.

Ok,and you said it's legal for me to rip from the game or something,
well I still don't know how to do that.


And yes tilesets are really hard to make,also ff2/4
is so complex it whould be so hard just to make the
enemys and etc work onto zc,and the pallets will be hard also.




Sence ff4 is a big game I will probly run out of-
pallet space fast so, imcomplete will be my best bet.

Ofcource I will be able to update it I will put as much effort into
it as i can before realseing it to the zc commuity.

oh, I'm sure you'd be able to cope with the palette space, you really are very unlikely to run out of palettes if you look at the level palettes list.

And you'd do it either via a Romview program, which I'm not sure of how they work, or by opening it in an emulator, taking a screenshot and ripping the tiles. A little tedious, but it does work.

Ok but some people tell me some of the stuff you mentioned above is ilegal,

It's not really the site staff's business what you do on your own computer that doesn't involve these forums, but fair enough. Although, it's not hard to find the information that I mentionned above if you have a look:http://www.dashroms.com/?page=disclaimer
I know pages like that one aren't the law and so there's no obligation that they'll necesarily be correct, but that site's still there, and so are many others like it, which couldn't be without some kind of loophole in the law. You could probably find your country's exact legalities on it if you wanted.

final fantasy 4 for my ps1, so what legal tool
can you tell me about that can help with this
and were can I download it at.


Becuse I live in the usa I wan't my riping and etc.to be 100%
legal, as not to get banned from here, becuse I follow the rules,
if what I wan't to do is ileagal or not alowed on this site
I will not do it.

But if it's legal and I can do it,only to help me and the other zc fans I
will dedicate my time to it seeing as I have alot of time on my hands.

I go to collage 2 days a week i'm training in webmaster and etc.

So one day I can have a game site,nown all across the web
like gamespot and etc.

Anyway if you can help me with the above request
i'm sure you, me, and all the zc fans, will benifit from it.

haha, I'm afraid you'll have to find the ROM and emulator yourself, I will get cautioned by the site staff for that. Just search FF4 rom in google, you'll find one after some searching. SNES9X I've found is a pretty good snes emulator, and the latest ZC builds have a ROMview with them.

Does anyone have the SD3 or UFF tilesets in quest form? 2.5 isn't backwards compatable with these so I can't open them as .zgp files. If anyone can put up a link, that would be awesome. :D


EDIT: Oh and C- if you see this do you still have a bunch of Megaman sprites and such? I was thinking of adding a bit to the MM set.

I've got the Megaman character sprites I did awhile ago. (Includes Rush Adaptor and X Armor). Thats about it.
