Kids these days have it too easy, in my day you had to actually move Mario around.

Yeah, I'm deep linking to the video, but the page it's normally hosted on has a lot of colorful language. Anyway, whoever designed this particular level has a lot of time on their hands.

For an interesting aside, keep track of his coin count.

That is awesome in so many ways.

EDIT: In return, I offer you this (http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/video/frustration). Bad language all the way through, but god damn, it's funny.

Holy crap. I'd like to know how long it took to design that.

That is some awesome stuff... whoever made that stage did a great job.

I actually have the ROM for that thing. I made it up to 1-3, where I promptly got horribly, horribly violated.

I'd like to know what SMW hack that is. =0

Did you swear as much as this guy? 'I hate everything... I LOVE everything!'

That must have took some time to design that! Very cool. Wonder if they just used the japanese rom or if it was some crazy japanese guy that made it.

I remember someone posting a video of that rom a while ago, but it didn't include the voice which, I have to say, adds quite a bit to it.

GUISE ITS NOT A HACK! ITS REAL U CAN DO IT IN TEH GAME i did it mysel fbut i lost teh save fial so i cant sho u

Seriously awesome stuff. My favorite parts are when the shell that's been bouncing around and is going to fly into Mario and kill him gets trapped by blocks when the P-switch wears off, and when Mario lands on Yoshi after the level is complete, and then Yoshi eats that berry, which provides the 100th coin in the level. Effing brilliant stuff, that.

I also love, from the second video, all the stuff in castles that Yoshi can harmlessly walk over or bounce on, and you just never get to see it in the game because you can't bring him into a castle.

Heh. I've seen this before. Very interesting stuff. I'm pretty sure it is a Japanese guy who makes them, there are actually 8 (I think?) levels that he's done... I saw them all on NicoNico Video.*

*For those curious, it's essentially a Japanese youtube. The gimmick is that it that allows users to make comments that fly across the video. Sounds annoying, but you get either get used to it, or turn that feature off. You also have to register to view videos. It might be tricky unless you follow someone's directions on how to register... or better yet, know Japanese. I apologize for getting off topic, but that's why this text is small. This paragraph saves me the trouble of having to explain if somebody asks what it is.

Sorry about the necromancy, but I think this would be a great addition to this thread:

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/22/dont-move-hacked-mario-world-levels-play-themselves

It's an article that has several "Lazy Mario" videos. Someone who commented to it also posted a link to a video of a guy actually trying to play through an auto-play level like a regular one. I found it hilarious (and surprising, considering he actually manages to finish it o_O).

It seems that it is a crazy Japanese guy; I notice that at the end of the second video he prints 'XXXXXwwww.' I have no idea what the Japanese means, however I can imply that the w is short for warui if I remember correctly. It translates to the 'lol' we have. I remember the 'w' deal from Final Fantasy XI, where almost the entire Japanese community would smash the w key if they thought something was funny.

Gravedigging of almost four months, but quite worth it. I found a music video done to it. The video (http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1775928). It's a J-Pop song.

You know what else makes Mario lazy? That one freakin' pixl from Super Paper Mario. I love that. He doesn't even jump when riding it.

Lmao. That must have been the SECOND funniest video I've ever seen.
